I
have found great joy in creating assemblages; taking things that I find,
discarded and broken, that by their brokenness and the patina of age are
beautiful. I assemble them together in a way that hopefully makes
their beauty apparent. There are actually two kinds of things to be found
on the ground; discarded things that people no longer want and lost things that
someone wants back but can't find. Sometimes it is hard to tell the
difference. It serves as a metaphor to make the point that there is great
beauty in everything, both what we lose and want back and what we discard.
Both these things tell us something about who we are.
